How to get to Murano and Burano

Both islands are easy to reach by vaporetto (public ferry) or water taxi from Venice. Departures are frequent, especially from Fondamente Nove (F.te Nove).

By Train

From Venezia Santa Lucia station, walk or take a vaporetto to Fondamente Nove (F.te Nove), then board line 12 for Burano or lines 3/4.1/4.2 for Murano.

By Car

Cars are not allowed on the islands. Park at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, then continue by vaporetto to Murano or Burano.

By Bus

From Mestre or the mainland, take a bus to Piazzale Roma, then a vaporetto to Fondamente Nove and onward to the islands.

On Foot

You can’t walk to the islands, but you can walk to Fondamente Nove from many central areas; from there, take line 12 to Burano and lines 3/4.1/4.2 to Murano.
